There are a number of different reasons why we may feel grumpy. Perhaps something bad happened at work? Or your kids were not listening? Or your body is not happy with you for the moment?

Regardless of the reason, how we react can either keep us on edge or calm us down.

Here are 6 easy steps to reach the green zone:

  1. If you feel yourself tightening, find a quiet spot where you can be alone.
  2. Sit for a few seconds with your eyes closed and take 3 deep breaths.
  3. Then tell yourself it’s ok to feel grumpy and irritated. We are only human.
  4. Find something to smile or laugh about. Imagine a happier time or think of an upcoming exciting adventure.
  5. Squeeze all of your muscles, your toes, hands, face, etc. And release after 3 seconds of tension.
  6. Return to your daily life.

Follow these steps to calm yourself down. And repeat them often.
